Stretching is the most overlooked exercise today.  It has a number of benefits for people of all ages.  It is helpful in injury prevention, as well as rehabilitation from an existing injury.  As we age most of us become less active and have jobs that don’t require a lot of physical movement.  The muscle and connective tissue begin to contract and shorten over time.  This starts to create that “tight/stiff” feeling we get in our joints.  This can easily be prevented by a regular stretching routine performed 3 – 4 times a week.
Please find attached stretches which help specific areas of the body:

  • Stretches for the shoulder
  • Stretches for the lower back
  • Stretches for the legs and hips
